Many adolescents have a limited understanding of menstruation and are unprepared for menarche.
Protect Her Inc. is a nonprofit organization revolutionizing menstrual health education through our comprehensive approach. We believe in proactive learning, introducing age-appropriate topics as early as possible to reduce stigma and ensure young people are prepared, confident, and knowledgeable before their first cycle. Unlike traditional programs that focus primarily on biology, we equip youth with real-world, practical guidance to effectively understand and manage their menstrual health.
Our programs are led by certified instructors - specialists in menstrual health, hormone coaching, and medical professionals - who create comfortable, engaging environments where questions are welcomed and curiosity is encouraged. Unlike traditional approaches, we provide tailored education for people of all genders, recognizing that universal understanding is essential for reducing stigma and creating supportive communities.
What Sets Us Apart
Our Comprehensive menstrual health education programs deliver multiple benefits through early, age-appropriate learning led by certified specialists.
Proactive Learning: We teach menstrual health education early, using age-appropriate content to build knowledge, increase comfort, and ensure young people are fully prepared with practical skills for when their first cycle begins.
Engaging Content: Our programs go beyond basic biology, focusing on what truly matters—from how to select and use menstrual products to understanding cycle-related changes in energy levels and emotions. We provide actionable knowledge that directly applies to real-life situations.
Expert Women Instructors: Our certified educators bring personal experience and genuine passion, creating environments that are both comfortable and engaging.
Stigma Reduction: By engaging all genders in appropriate education, we're building communities where period talk isn't shameful but simply part of human health. This inclusive approach creates supportive environments both in and out of the classroom.
Body Literacy & Confidence: We teach menstruation as the "fifth vital sign," helping young people interpret their body's signals and distinguish between what's normal, common, or concerning. This knowledge builds confidence and bodily autonomy.
Self-Advocacy: Armed with practical knowledge and a supportive community, we empower young people to speak up for their needs, seek help when appropriate, and confidently navigate their menstrual health journey.
